Model composition for primary 6: An act of honesty
“ What should I do?” the old man mumbled to himself, as he walked up and down. Seeing his panic- stricken face, my heart was heavy with guilt. What he was looking for was in my pocket . Everything was fine one hour ago. I was shopping at the mall near my house with my mother. The mall bustling with activity. Upbeat music blasted from the speakers, putting the shoppers in a good mood. I was having a whale of a time, browsing through the shops when suddenly, I needed to go to the toilet. Little did I know something unexpected was waiting to happen in the toilet.
The public restroom was unusually quiet that day. My eyes twinkled in delight when I caught sight of something on the floor. It was a wallet. The leather was almost worn out. I was not expecting much. But when I opened it, I was overwhelmed with glee. Crisp green notes peeked at me. There was almost a few thousand dollars in it. I was stuck in a dilemma, if I took the wallet, I would be able to get the laptop that I had wanted for ten years but if I did not return the wallet the person would lose their money. In the end I decided to take the wallet.
While I was walking, I heard a commotion. Then I saw a panicked old man. A frantic expression plastered across his face as his eyes darted across the room, as if looking for something. I asked him what had happened and he told me that he had lost his wallet. I started to mull over what should I do as my conscience pricked at me like needles.” What should I do? my wallet has all my money!” he cried. Hearing those words, and knowing what he was looking for was in my pocket, I decided to do the right thing.
I decided to return the wallet. The worry on his face melted away and his eyes shone like diamonds when he saw the wallet in my hands. He decided reward me and gave me fifty dollars. In the end, I learned that honesty is the best policy.
