Practical Exam Orientated Classes, focusing on
strategies, techniques and ample practice to improve scores
Our English Mastery course is an EXAM PREPARATION course that takes a practical approach in helping students gain mastery on the various components of English Paper 2. Our lessons cover the following: Grammar MCQ, Vocabulary MCQ, Vocabulary Cloze, Visual Text Comprehension, Grammar Cloze, Editing for Spelling and Grammar, Comprehension Cloze, Synthesis + Transformation and Comprehension Open. Each week, a component is tackled. Students are given tips, tricks, techniques and shortcuts on how to identify and answer questions. Along with that, students get ample practice on the components. Our curriculum closely follows the LATEST MOE SYLLABUS. We have collected and prepared challenging questions that incorporate higher-order thinking skills. The aim of this course is to strengthen every area of Paper 2 with adequate practice, guidance and on the spot feedback by the teachers. Every week, students would attempt a question set from each component. They will be taught techniques to handle each component. Every 4 weeks, they will sit for a mock ENGLISH EXAM PAPER.

WHAT WE COVER
Synthesis + Transformation
Students will be exposed to a set of challenging SYNTHESIS + TRANSFORMATION questions based on the PSLE exam format. Students would taught on how to deal with transforming or changing the structure of a sentence. Students would be exposed to a theme of linking words that they would learn during the session. They will be guided with example sentences.
Editing Techniques
Students are exposed to a wide variety of editing practices that are challenging yet educational. Students are given tips and comprehensive notes on spelling and grammar. The aim of this class is to finish at least 8 to 10 challenging editing exercises. The teacher would then go through errors and give tips on improving spelling and grammar.
Grammar MCQs
Each session consists of 50 essential grammar PSLE stimulated MCQs. This helps students to reinforce the knowledge of grammatical rules learned at school. Students are taught to analyze questions and through the process of elimination and usage of grammatical knowledge to find the correct answer. The teacher thoroughly goes through their mistakes so students would not repeat them. One Grammar MCQ class covers 5 essential grammar topics.
Visual Text Techniques
Students will be exposed to common VISUAL TEXT questions, how to identify and answer them. The aim is to help students understand the underlying messages in posters and advertisements by associating with visuals and texts. Students will learn how to identify the typical questions asked and how to find the right answer. A session would cover 3 VISUAL TEXT COMPREHENSION PRACTICES.
Open Comprehension Techniques
Cloze Passage Techniques
Students would learn to analyze, identify common questions and techniques on how to answer them. These comprehension exercises have been written to reflect as closely as to the LATEST MOE SYLLABUS. Also, some questions have been set up to challenge students which can only serve to better equip them during the actual sitting itself. Effective techniques taught in this class aims to enable students to tackle the examinations successfully.
Vocabulary MCQ
Each session consists of 50 essential vocabulary PSLE stimulated MCQs. This helps to broaden the lexicon of pupils by introducing new and unfamiliar words. The teacher will give them the meanings to help students learn efficiently. The teacher will then thoroughly go through their mistakes so students would not repeat them.
Mock Tests
This test will resemble the PSLE ENGLISH PAPER as closely as possible. It will include the following: Grammar MCQ, Vocabulary MCQ, Vocabulary Cloze, Visual Text Comprehension, Grammar Cloze, Editing for Spelling and Grammar, Comprehension Cloze, Synthesis + Transformation and Comprehension Open. Students would be graded according to PSLE STANDARDS. Feedback on which areas need to improve would be given.

Students will attempt 2 grammar cloze, 2 vocab cloze and 2 compre cloze in one session. The students will then be guided on where they went wrong and how to identify the correct answers. This session aims to give them ample practice, to learn from errors and not repeat them.
PRIMARY 3/4
Regular Weekly Classes
1.5 hr Online lesson weekly focusing on various components of Paper 2. Lessons focus on techniques and ample practice. Based on the latest MOE syllabus that incorporates challenging questions , this course is a preparatory programme for Primary 5. This is highly suitable for students who are average and beyond, looking for a more advanced syllabus.
