Here are few ways to write introductions for PSLE COMPOSITIONS
1 | In the middle of the action | Example: The scream echoed through the silent night, shattering the fragile peace. |
2 | Dialogue | Example: "I told you not to go there," she warned, her voice trembling.dcdc |
3 | Description | Example: The old, weathered house stood at the end of the deserted street, its windows dark and ominous. |
4 | Exposition | Example: It was a cold, rainy night in the city of London. |
5 | A question | Have you done something you regretted? |
Additional tips:
Strong opening line: Grab the reader's attention immediately. Create curiosity.
"Don't do that!" I warned, staring daggers into his cold, steely eyes.
His iron grip tightened around me. I gulped knowing that I landed myself in hot water.
Character introduction: Introduce your main character(s) early on.
Janine was beautiful. Her eyes were sparkly. Her face resembled an angel. But her heart was vile and cold.
Setting the scene: Establish the time and place of the story.
Locals whispered tales of the house's dark history, of a family long gone, their spirits trapped within its crumbling walls.
Conflict: Hint at the main conflict or problem.
Pacing: Balance description and action.
